Helen recently produced and assistant directed New Room Theatre's R & D in Spring 2016.

Stage Fright is a devised, immersive; part verbatim work, exploring first-hand experience of performance anxiety. Safe in the darkness of the auditorium, the audience watch an actor’s performance, but as he loses composure and the mask slips they witness a darker reality.

The audience is voyeur to a devised study of failure and extreme discomfort only to find that they too are being observed by the performer. In a world where privacy is willingly traded, Stage Fright reveals more than we expected. Even as we are entertained it questions how much of someone we have a right to see.
